Who I am
Kent Computer Repairs is run by Guy Carter, providing computer repair and IT help in and around Ashford, Kent.

What I collect
• Your name, phone number and email address when you contact me or book a repair.
• Your address, if I visit you or return equipment to you.
• Details about your computer, the fault and the work I do.
• Messages you send through the contact form on this website.
• Records of invoices and payments.

Your files
While repairing your computer I may need to see files on it. I only look at what I need to do the job. I don't copy your files unless you ask me to, for example for data recovery or a backup, and any copy made for that purpose is deleted once the job is finished.

Why I use it
To do the work you've asked for, to contact you about your job, to send invoices and keep accounts, and to meet legal requirements. I don't sell your details or use them for anything else.

Who else sees it
Messages sent through the contact form are delivered to my email by the website's form service. I only share your details with others where needed to do your job (for example a parts supplier delivering to you), or where the law requires it.

How long I keep it
Job and contact records are kept for as long as needed to support you. Invoices and accounts are kept for as long as tax law requires.

Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it where I'm not required to keep it. Just get in touch using the details above. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
